Izabela is an artist, illustrator and writer based in London. Using a dynamic line and loose mark-making, she seeks to capture movement and atmosphere with clarity and warmth. Drawing on location, where she can directly respond to the environment and the action taking place around her, is her favourite way of working. Storytelling sits at the heart of Izabela’s image-making, and she is inspired by themes of memory, our experience of time, questions of identity, messages of personal growth and empowerment, nature and everyday joy.
Izabela holds an MA in Illustration from the University of the Arts London: Camberwell College of Arts, which she completed in December 2025. She has also completed a series of short illustration courses, including an 8-week programme in Editorial Illustration with Inkygoodness Collective. This year, she is actively pursuing work opportunites in editorial, live and reportage illustration.
Prior to this, Izabela was as a writer and editor. She graduated with a MA in Magazine Journalism from City University London in 2016, and soon after began working for the British Journal of Photography where remained for seven years. During this time, she worked her way up to become Editor-in-Chief, the first female editor in the publication’s 168-year history. There, she developed her skills in storytelling, narrative building, interviews, team leadership and working with text and image. In 2023, Izabela decided to leave the magazine to pursue her personal creative practice in art and illustration.
